Simple, Heartfelt Ways to Make Mother’s Day Beautiful

Mother’s Day is one of our favorite moments of the year — a gentle pause to honor the women who fill our homes and hearts with love. At Elegant Living, family is at the center of everything we do, so celebrating moms feels especially meaningful.

Before we dive into decorating ideas, here’s a quick peek at our family for those who are new here:
Our story begins with JD and our cherished mom, Jean Ann. Then come the Yount girls — Addyson, Gracee, and Lexi — and Jason, the builder and co-owner behind our design projects. And I’m Tabitha, wife, mom, and designer.

One of our sweetest memories goes all the way back to 2014 — our very first selfie stick photo. Jason had the idea, the older girls had Addy laughing her head off, and we ended up with a perfectly imperfect picture we still treasure. Moments like that remind us why creating a meaningful home matters so much.

Here are a few simple, heartfelt ways to make this Mother’s Day special:

Gather favorite family photos, handwritten notes, and special artwork. Mix frame sizes and finishes, and place your gallery in a spot Mom walks by every day. It’s a beautiful reminder of the love that surrounds her.

2. Set a Beautiful Table for Brunch

Use her favorite colors, layer pretty dishes, add fresh flowers, and slip a handwritten note at her place setting. A thoughtfully set table makes even the simplest meal feel like a celebration.

3. Refresh Her Bedroom Retreat

Update the bedding, add cozy throws, place a small floral arrangement nearby, and create a peaceful bedside vignette with candles and her favorite book. Small touches make a big difference.

4. Craft Something Meaningful with the Kids

Let the kids create handmade cards or simple decorations. Display their artwork throughout the home — it adds charm and makes Mom feel extra loved.

Mother’s Day doesn’t need to be extravagant to be beautiful. It’s the thoughtful touches — the photos, the notes, the shared moments — that make the day meaningful.

Wishing all the wonderful women out there a warm and joyful Mother’s Day.
